


Genevieve Faulk is the President & lead care manager for Aging Care Advocates. In pursuing her interest in improving the quality of life for older adults and their families, she has gained experience and education in the field of aging.
Genevieve is a Care Manager Certified (CMC) with an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Georgia. She has earned a graduate Certification in Gerontology from the Gerontology Center at the University of Georgia and a Certification in Geriatric Care Management through the University of Florida. Genevieve also is a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) and is a current member of the following organizations: National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers (GCM), Florida Geriatric Care Managers Association (FGCMA), National Association of Social Workers (NASW), Florida Health Care Social Workers Association (FHCSWA), and Society of Certified Senior Advisors (CSA).
In addition to her education, Genevieve's experiences in the field of aging have been very diverse. They include the following: nursing homes, hospital based geriatric case management programs, community councils on aging, grant proposals for aging issues, ombudsman programs and abuse investigations, Alzheimer's adult day care programs, home based services, and caregiver support groups.
Education, experience, compassion and sincere care for the elderly and aging issues enable Genevieve to establish a trusting and respectful relationship with the older adult and their family members, as well as, other professionals in the aging field.
Genevieve manages and oversees all care management cases with her primary goal being to provide the best quality of care to clients of Aging Care Advocates, Inc.
Katie Colwell Williams is a full time Care Manager Certified (CMC) with Aging Care Advocates, who serves our clients located in both Hillsborough and Pasco counties. Prior to working with Aging Care Advocates, Katie graduated Cum Laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and a minor, as well as, a Certification in Gerontology. Katie also served as a research assistant at the University of Florida during a pain study, which examined behavioral pain indicators of cognitively impaired older adults.
Katie completed an extensive amount of volunteer work in assisted living facilities in Gainesville while completing her undergraduate degree. It was through her volunteer work that Katie discovered her passion for working with older adults. Thus, Katie went on to receive her Master's in Gerontology from the University of South Florida. Her graduate focus was in the area of Case Management. Following her Master's degree, Katie worked with the West Central Florida Area Agency on Aging as a Medicaid Waiver Specialist. This experience allowed Katie not only to learn about the many of the resources available to older adults in the Tampa Bay Area, but helped her to gain expertise of the Medicaid Waiver Program, as well as, extensive knowledge of the participating facilities throughout the Tampa Bay area.
Katie is a very compassionate, caring and dedicated care manager. She gives her all in everything she does, which allows her to not only gain the trust and faith of our clients, but their family members as well. Katie strives to make certain that all her clients have the best quality of life possible.
Amy Brand is a geriatric care manager with Aging Care Advocates, Inc who serves both Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. Amy graduated with her Bachelors degree in Social Work from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. While working towards her undergraduate degree in Social Work, Amy completed a professional internship with the Johnnie B. Byrd Alzheimer's Center and Research Institute. While there, Amy specialized in administering memory screenings and assisting in the outreach/advocacy role for Alzheimer's disease education and research.
Amy was able to develop an abundance of knowledge including the numerous resources and services available for older adults living in the Tampa Bay area. As Amy's passion for working with the elderly population grew, Amy decided to expand her education to work more closely with elderly individuals and their families. Amy later graduated from the University of South Florida with her Master's in Social Work. While obtaining her master's degree, Amy completed a three semester master's level internship with Aging Care Advocates, Inc.
Amy is, in every respect, committed to working with the older adult and disabled populations. Amy is currently a member of the National Association of Social Workers and a member of the National Social Work Honor Society, Phi Alpha/Delta Sigma chapter. Amy is currently working towards her CMC (Care Management Certification).
Theresa Farling is a full time Geriatric Care Manager for Aging Care Advocates. Theresa serves clients in Pinellas County where she has been a lifetime resident.
Theresa graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. Theresa realized her strong commitment to serving others while still in school and went to work for the United Way of Tampa Bay. In her role as Speakers Bureau Coordinator, Theresa developed her knowledge of local community resources. It also heightened her awareness that more social services were needed. Theresa felt compelled to become part of the solution.
Theresa then returned to the University of South Florida and earned her Master of Social Work degree. During this time, Theresa gained experience at the Bay Pines Veterans Medical Center. Theresa served veterans and their families in the Acute Rehabilitation Unit of the hospital. Theresa worked with an interdisciplinary team to identify her patient strengths and barriers in order to develop care plans that optimized their recovery. Theresa also provided Mental Health Intensive Case Management for individuals with chronic behavioral health issues. In this capacity, Theresa provided long-term assessment, dealt with and treated a broad spectrum of mental health disorders, procured community resources for her clients, and was a passionate client advocate. Theresa has also been employed by the State of Florida 13th Judicial Circuit Family Court where she worked with families toward conflict resolution and providing professional recommendations to the Court.
Theresa is a member of Alpha Mu Alpha (National Marketing Honor Society) and Pi Gamma Mu (International Social Science Honor Society). She is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Theresa is currently working towards her licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and her CMC (Care Management Certification).
Teresa Jackson is a full time Care Manager Certified (CMC) with Aging Care Advocates, who serves our clients located in Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties. Prior to working with Aging Care Advocates, Teresa graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with a concentration in Gerontology and a Master's degree in Gerontology with a concentration in Counseling.
Teresa has worked with older adults, in a variety of capacities, for many years. While in college she worked in a nursing home as a nursing assistant, activities director, and admissions coordinator. She then worked with the Area Agency on Aging in North Carolina before moving to England and working with the National Charity Age Concern, where she gained tremendous experience in conducting in home assessments and referrals to a variety of different age related services.
Upon returning to the United States over 6 years ago and moving to Florida, Teresa started her own private geriatric care management company, which provided assistance to older adults and their families with issues related to aging and elder care. Aging Care Advocates is happy to announce that Teresa recently joined our team in early 2010, which has greatly added to our overall team experience and knowledge.
Teresa is a member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers (GCM) and the Florida Geriatric Care Managers Association (FGCMA). She is the Vice President of the Pasco Aging Network and a member of the Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas, Inc. Advisory Council.
Teresa has a true passion for working with older adults. She strives to see that every older adult is treated with dignity and respect and works to ensure that each of her clients achieve the best quality of life possible.
Pamela Adler is a Geriatric Care Manager with Aging Care Advocates, Inc. (ACA), and serves both Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties. Pamela graduated with a B.A. in Sociology from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. She also earned an M.A. in Community Counseling from the University of South Florida, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy, and later received a license in Marriage and Family Therapy from the State of Florida.
As a marriage and family therapist, Pamela worked in a variety of settings, including family counseling centers, a residential runaway shelter, and she provided in-home therapy for the families of truant students.
Pamela has had a lifelong interest in working with seniors, initially encouraged in childhood by her father's experience of working with the senior population managing adult day care centers, and later through her personal experience of caring for her grandmother and mother, who both lived the last years of their lives with Alzheimer's disease. Pamela determined from those experiences that she wanted to work with other seniors and their families, to navigate the immense changes that can occur in senior's lives.
Pamela received a Graduate Certificate in Geriatric Care Management through the University of Florida, and completed her internship with Aging Care Advocates, Inc. Pamela joined ACA in the fall of 2010, and immensely enjoys the opportunity to effect change in the lives of her clients.
Jamie Magrill is a full time Geriatric Care Manager with Aging Care Advocates. Jamie graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Minor in Business from Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. Jamie then went on to study Clinical Social Work and graduated with a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from The University of South Florida. While being a student she was a member of the Phi Alpha Honor Society.
While Jamie was working towards her degree at USF, she was a part of a team of social workers that volunteered in a newly designed health care clinic to assist residents of the local Tampa Bay Area with their health care needs. This allowed Jamie to be a part of team of doctors and assist the patients in finding resources throughout Tampa Bay that would be beneficial to meet their needs.
Once Jamie received her Master's degree in social work, she began to work for a Medicare/Medicaid company where she gained knowledge in the insurance field. From this Jamie went on to work for a Medicaid Diversion Program, where she found her passion working with the older adult population. While working for the diversion program, Jamie was able to network with local assisted living facilities, home health agencies, and resources in Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas County to meet her client's needs to better assist them to remain in their home. From Jamie's experience working with the older adult population, she has discovered that this is her true passion. She is committed to ensure that each of her clients needs is met, that they are comfortable in their home, and are treated with respect.
Jamie is currently working towards her licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and her CMC (Care Management Certification).
Venus Nelson is the Director of Operations with Aging Care Advocates, Inc. She helps families who need to explore obtaining care for a loved one learn about Aging Care Advocates. Venus helps reduce the stress of a family who needs help, by supporting them in getting started in the process. Venus also works to match families with the best care manager to meet their unique needs.
Venus' background in an estate planning law firm helps her understand the needs of older adults and their families. Her mission is to create a stress-free experience where families can feel confident and have peace of mind their loved ones are being cared for.
Venus' gift of genuine compassion allows every family she supports to feel comfortable and cared for. Her diligence and advocacy for older adults ensures every family is treated with respect and dignity.
